Crossing Biscay

Hi everyone this is a quick update. We set off as planed but after two days of heavy seas with wind on the nose and engines on all the time,we turned back and are still in Eire in a nice little quite Marina called Salve in Co Cork. Free internet hence this post. We used over halve the diesel (twin Tanks) so now have to fill up etc. Also a small irritating oil leak in port engine if we go above 1500 rpms. Not too worried as we usually only go upto 1200 rpms. Still an engineer will inspect today. Hoping that the weather will be as predicted and we can set off either Sat/Sun. Shall try to keep you informed.

Those are low revving engines.
I tend to use a single engine (Yanmar 2GM20) running at twice those revs offshore to get anywhere.
I hope the weather works out for you at the next attempt.

Hi everyone well we are off today. The wind is in the right direction NW and the small oil leak is fixed. It was a loose bolt from when we had the new seals put into the water pump!!! the oil was woring its way along the thread. I now have a new set of spanners as my socket set would not reach. We have Volvo 2020s..
The next report hopefully will be from Portugal.
